Buffalo Gals meet Brahms and Bernstein

This program will consist of works for clarinet and piano with Martha MacDonald, clarinet and Lita Guerra, piano.  Selections performed include Dance Preludes by Lutoslawski, Sonatas by Bernstein and Brahms (Op. 120 #1), andWalker's Buffalo Gals and others. Refreshments will be provided after the performance.


You're invited to join artists Claire Vangelisti, soprano; Delaine Fedson, harp; and Sandra Lunte, flute for a delightful program.  It will consist of duo and solo repertoire for flute and harp, folk songs from the British Isles arranged for voice and harp, as well as a voice/harp arrangement of the well known operatic aria Rusalka's Song to the Moon.

Music to fit the Spring season performed by women; violist Martha Carapetyan, flautist Barb Mahler, and harpist Elaine Barber. The program will include the Trio by Debussy and trios by French composers Jolivet and Leclaire. The concert will be performed in a beautifully restored historic home in Hyde Park (4401 Avenue H). What better way to enjoy chamber music than in the intimate ambience for which it was written?

Music featured in this concert includes universally appealing Broadway, film score, art song, and jazz standards either about or sung by villains - or otherwise misunderstood and other-worldly characters - and macabre affairs. Martha Dudgeon will accompany soprano Eva Laskaris, and tenor Jeffrey Jones-Ragona. This mixed program will feature vocal solos and duets featuring music from Broadway's Wicked, and The Mystery of Edwin Drude and others. It will also include art songs of Faure, Saint-Saens, Liszt, and Strauss. You won't want to miss piano transcriptions from films such as The Sorcerer's Stone, Tommy, and Fantasia. Just for fun, video game themes will be played as well.

Stephanie Chen, guest pianist and current Julliard student; Martha Dudgeon, piano; Martha MacDonald, clarinet; Barb Mahler, flute; Martha Carapetyn, viola Benefit concert and dinnerReservations required. Works performed include 4-hand piano transcription selections from Mussorgsky's Pictures At An Exhibition; piano solo and trio selections by Libby Larsen, Robert Schumann and others. The Mussorgsky work is based on drawings of characters and the Schumann and Larsen selections are based on paintings or scenes in nature. Come enjoy a wonderful evening of art, music, and Southwestern cuisine.

Concert pianist Richard Dowling joins members of the Austin Chamber Ensemble wind quintet for a performance of Mozart's Quintet for Piano and Winds.  Dowling will also perform works from his Piano Rags CD featuring Gershwin and Joplin.  This concert was a sellout when Dowling performed several years ago in Austin.

This concert will feature Martha Dudgeon, piano; Barb Mahler, flute; Koji Kodama, percussion and others as they perform Claude Bolling's famous Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio, his Suite for Classic Guitar, and selections by PDQ Bach to celebrate Peter Schickle's 80th birth year.
